Kinesiology refers to "the study of human movement." The increasing societal concern for the physical well-being of the American population has sparked renewed interest in the study of physical education and kinesiology. As such, the B.S. in Kinesiology at Cal State San Marcos prepares students for a wide variety of careers in the areas of rehabilitation, wellness, fitness, and education.
We are one of the fastest growing majors on campus, with over 800 Kinesiology and Pre-Kinesiology majors across our four options, and with another 60 students served at the Temecula campus in the Health Science option. We are committed, however, to providing our students individualized attention by keeping class size under 35 students. Our state-of-the-art Human Performance, Biomechanics, LIMB, and Bone Research Laboratories house state-of-the-art equipment, used side-by-side by our faculty and students for hypothesis-driven research projects in several upper-division classes. In addition, we are launching a brand new graduate program in Kinesiology, set to admit its first students in Fall 2014. It's a good time to be a Kinesiology major!
Kinesiology will be launching a graduate program in the Fall of 2014!
Important details to follow soon.
Kinesiology is an IMPACTED program. Supplemental admission criteria are required for entry into the program. Click the impaction links on the menu for more information

What our students say...
"The Kinesiology program at CSUSM is amazing! It is very unique because you receive a lot of individualized attention from the professors who are very personable and will go out of their way to help you...they not only teach the in-depth science, but they also let you experience it...they make it real for you. I found this gave me a lot more confidence in what I know how to do when I went out there and started working in the field."
