In support of CSUSM's effort to achieve Hispanic Serving Institution designation, the Role Models program was initiated by the Latino Association of Faculty & Staff (LAFS). The program consists of selecting a student, a faculty member, a staff member, and an administrator as role models for the academic year. The selected individuals will have the option of having their picture and professional contributions to the Latino community posted on the LAFS' web site, "Gallery of Outstanding Role Models."
The nominator needs to note in what capacity he/she knows the nominee and include a statement of his/her qualifications as an outstanding role model. Nominees/Role models do not need to be Latino.
Selected role models will be invited to the La Raza Graduation Reception and given recognition at that time and will be especially recognized by presenting the models with the "Outstanding Role Model" award at a LAFS Welcome Reception in September.
Please Note: This does not have to be in narrative format, but be sure to answer all of the questions as concise as possible. Make sure you describe what makes your role model to be outstanding and take the following criteria in consideration when answering the questions below.
