Lourdes Shahamiri, Catalog and Curriculum Coordinator, Curriculum and Scheduling Office
Among Lourdes’ many accomplishments:
- Staff speaker at Mission Statement Day in 1995
- Founding member, past treasurer and president of the Latino Association of Faculty & Staff (LAFS)
- Member of President Stacy’s Hispanic Advisory Council and also served as Vice-Chair
- Driving force for the César E. Chávez Project to name the campus plaza and obtain the statue in his honor
- Staff representative in President Gonzalez’ President’s Council
- Chancellor Reed’s Presidential Search Committee
- President Haynes’ Transition Team Task Force and University Strategic Planning Task Force
- Active in the early development of the Hispanic Serving Institution initiative
- Co-chair of the Educational Equity Task Force
- Staff representative at the Academic Senate
- Recipient of the “All People’s Celebration” recognition, in 2006 and 2010, for advancing dialogue, community, and diversity at CSUSM
- Recipient of the Ernest and Leslie Zomalt “Outstanding Service Award” in 2008-09
Lourdes Shahamiri is a visionary leader, a consummate team player, an engaging colleague, and a wonderful mentor. She holds an Associate of Arts in Liberal Studies and Sciences, a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development with Counseling Services Concentration, and a Master of Arts in Sociological Practice. Lourdes’ current position is Catalog and Curriculum Coordinator in the Office of Academic Programs.
