Dear Prospective Student:
Thank you for your interest in Cal State San Marcos’ Liberal Studies B.A. major. Here at Cal State San Marcos we take pride in the intellectual engagement of our students. Our Liberal Studies degree provides a breadth of study in liberal arts. Currently you are on the Liberal Studies Advising website. We are also pleased to direct you to the Liberal Studies Department website to learn more about our faculty.
As you may have noticed, the Liberal Studies Advising website contains a lot of information and links pertaining to the major. Specifically, the following links explain the three different options we offer within the Liberal Studies Major, a Border Studies option, a Traditional Program option and an Integrated Credential Program (ICP) option.
If after viewing the on-line presentation, you are interested in information about the ICP, you may attend an information meeting. Please go to the ICP website for the meeting times.
For questions about our curriculum, please look up the Liberal Studies course of study in our most recent General University Catalog.
We regret that we are unable to answer individual questions you might have about your admission to our program or about your transcripts. Regarding admission, our admissions office will be in direct contact with you after you apply to the university.
Please see Cal State San Marcos’ Office of Admissions website for prospective students. Hopefully this will answer any questions you might have about how to apply for our university and program. Regarding evaluation of your previous coursework, due to resource limitations, our advisors are only able to answer questions from enrolled students; we do not evaluate transcripts of prospective students. If you are at a California community college and have questions about your transcripts, please meet with the transfer counselor from your community college.
Again, thank you for your interest in our Liberal Studies degree, and we look forward to seeing you in our classes soon.
