Subject Matter Authorization
Students who choose an academic subject for their Liberal Studies concentration can apply these courses to build towards a Subject Matter Authorization (SMA). With an SMA you can teach through the ninth grade in that subject area. ICP students interested in teaching middle level are invited to attend a Subject Matter Authorization Workshop. Students can download the SMA worksheet you are interested in and bring to the workshop. Students should also bring their ICP worksheet, transcripts, and Depth of Study or Special Field worksheet to the workshop.
