Teaching Options
ALL First Year and Sophomore students, must complete the lower-division core curriculum prior to choosing a teaching option. For requirements, please go to the 'First-Year/Sophomore Students' link.
After completing the lower-division requirements, in order to fulfill ones upper-division coursework, a Junior or Senior will need to declare either the Traditional or ICP option. For requirements, please go to either the Traditional or ICP option links.
The curriculum for both the Traditional and the Integrated Credential Program (ICP) options are structured to help students become highly qualified teachers and can aid in taking the two required tests for entering a credential program.
Specifically, the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) and the
California Subject Examinations for Teachers (CSET-Multiple Subject).
