Teaching Options

ALL First Year and Sophomore students, must complete the lower-division core curriculum prior to choosing a teaching option. For requirements, please go to the 'First-Year/Sophomore Students' link.

Prior to taking upper-division coursework, you will need to declare either the ESM-Traditional or ICP Option.

Both the ESM-Traditional and the Integrated Credential Program (ICP) Options prepare students for the two tests required for teaching credential programs:

the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) and the California Subject Examinations for Teachers (CSET-Multiple Subject).
