Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Mathematics:

Effective Date:  Fall semester, 2013

Position Description: California State University San Marcos (http://www.csusm.edu/math) has an opening for a tenure track Assistant Professor of mathematics to begin August 2013. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Mathematics (or equivalent) and research expertise in probability theory and stochastic processes or graph theory. A strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate and master's level teaching is essential. Depth and breadth of mathematical expertise and a commitment to mathematical research are also important.

Applicants should submit a faculty application, cover letter, a completed AMS cover sheet (available at www.mathjobs.org/jobs), a curriculum vitae, four letters of recommendation (one specifically addressing teaching), a one- to two-page teaching statement, and a one- to four-page research statement. The teaching statement should include teaching philosophy, teaching interests, and teaching experience. The research statement should indicate future research plans, but may include a description of mathematical background, interests, and past research.
