Peter Ronchetti is a General Manager for Merlin Entertainments Group, the second largest attractions operator in the world. During his 11 years with the organization, he has spent the last five overseeing LEGOLAND® California Resort which consists of LEGOLAND® California, SEA LIFE™ Aquarium, LEGOLAND Water Park and the recently opened, LEGOLAND Hotel. All are designed for families with children ages two to twelve.
After graduating from Exeter University with an honors degree in history, Ronchetti began his career as a graduate trainee with Whitbread Company (Brewing & Hospitality) in 1983, holding a number of regional management positions within Licensed House, Restaurant & Hotel Divisions.
Ronchetti continued his career spending seven years at United Kingdom’s leading national holiday resort company, Bourne Leisure (formerly Haven Holidays) holding various management positions including Regional Director.
In 2002, Ronchetti joined the Tussauds Group, now a part of Merlin Entertainments Group, as General Manager of Thorpe Park in Surrey, England. He established and led the team through a six year period of rapid business growth, brand platform delivery and major product development.
In December of 2008, Ronchetti moved with his wife, Liz, and two sons, Paul-Luc (now 20) and Jordi (now 18), to assume responsibility for LEGOLAND California Resort. As General Manager, he is responsible for the day-to-day operations for each attraction, safety of the guests and staff, growth and development of the Resort, as well as long-term planning to ensure LEGOLAND California Resort’s strategy is in line with Merlin Entertainments Group’s strategy.
Now living in Carlsbad, Ronchetti enjoys cycling, walking, running, spending time with his family touring California and photography.
