What will be done with the proceeds?
The Bree Tinney Auction raises funds for scholarships or other endowment funds at Cal State San Marcos. This year’s beneficiary is the Vicki Golich Summer Arts Program Endowment. Once the endowment is established at $10,000, funding will be made available to CSUSM students and faculty who attend the exciting Summer Arts Program, an annual event that Dr. Golich, former dean of the College of Arts and Sciences enjoyed greatly.
The Auction honors Bree Tinney, who was one of the first students to major in women’s studies at Cal State San Marcos (she was a member of the staff as well). Shortly after entering as a transfer student, Ms. Tinney was diagnosed with cancer and died in the fall of 1993. The annual electronic auction is a cherished campus tradition in remembrance of Bree Tinney.
