Dr. Mohammad Oskoorouchi has accepted the position of interim associate dean in the College of Business Administration, and has also agreed to be the interim director of Graduate Programs. He is an excellent scholar, classroom teacher, and contributor to our academic community. 

Mohammad joined CSUSM as assistant professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management in 2002. He was promoted to associate professor in 2007 and to professor in 2012. He has been director of the MBA Program since July, 2011. In his role as MBA director, Mohammad oversees the academics and operations of CoBA’s Fully Employed MBA (FEMBA) program. He also worked tirelessly to help develop and obtain approval of an accelerated specialized MBA program. This program is unique in concept due to the introduction of stackable professional certificates that can either lead to the MBA or stand alone.

Mohammad has also served the University as secretary of the Academic Senate and Chair/member of its standing committees. He served on system-wide committees such as ELM and LDTP. He is an active member of Institution for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS). He is currently vice-chair of the Optimization Society, and Chair of Invited Clusters for INFORMS 2015 in Philadelphia.

After 10 years in CoBA, Dr. Jim Hamerly is stepping down from his position as director of Business Outreach and Senior Experience.  His energy, expertise, and creativity will be greatly missed.

Jim began teaching in CoBA in 2003. He assumed his current position in 2008. Under his leadership, Senior Experience has grown and become one of the College’s signature programs. In addition to his exemplary work with Senior Experience, Jim has been instrumental in developing the Entrepreneurship program and such events as the Quick Pitch Competition and Female Entrepreneurs. He has been faculty advisor to the Entrepreneurship Society, served on numerous other student clubs, and served as faculty representative on the CoBA Alumni Board since its inception. Jim has also served on the Vista Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors through the University’s Chamber Champions program, as well as numerous other business community and alumni company boards.

Wayne’s professional experience includes over 20 years in Information Technology, most recently as vice president of IT for Pacific Monarch Resorts, Inc. He was instrumental in the expansion and restructuring of a multi-location corporation into global markets.  Additionally, he has been credited with driving lean operations, increased profitability, tightened cost control, and process efficiencies within Pacific Monarch. He served as a vital executive team member with CIO- and COO-level authority. Wayne was a key decision-maker who strengthened operating capabilities at Pacific Monarch throughout periods of 400 percent corporate growth and industry volatility.

Wayne previously provided Board representation on the CSUSM Foundation and Alumni Association. He has also held membership in the Association of Information Technology Professionals, Sigma Iota Epsilon, the American Resort Development Association, and Hospitality and Financial and Technology Professionals.
