Freshmen and Graduating Seniors: Have You Completed the National Survey of Student Engagement

Hello Fellow CSUSM Students:

Cal State San Marcos, along with hundreds of other four-year colleges and universities nationwide, is participating in the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) this spring.

The NSSE (pronounced “Nessie”) asked freshmen and graduating seniors key questions about their educational experiences—from studying to faculty interaction to cooperative learning. The information we recieve from the survey will enable the university to improve students’ educational experiences by helping us understand how students spend time in and out of the classroom. In addition, this year we have added extra questions to learn more about students’ experiences with advising.

The only way to take the survey is by clicking on the survey link in an email from nsse@nssesurvey.org that was sent to your campus email. This survey is only available for Freshmen and Graduating Seniors. It is important that we as students provide feedback so that the University can respond to the needs of students. I appreciate your input and your time as this will benefit the entire campus community.

To find out more about the NSSE go to http://nsse.iub.edu/html/about.cfm

The results of past years’ surveys are available to students, parents, prospective students at http://www.csusm.edu/ipa/surveys/nsse.html

Thank you,

Matt Walsh
