DATE: January 24, 2013
TO: The Campus Community
FROM: Karen S. Haynes, Ph.D., President
SUBJECT: Update on Ombudsman Role
As you know, Derrick Crawford, associate vice president for diversity, educational equity and ombudsman, resigned in December. Scott Gross, associate vice president for community engagement and campus climate advocate, has been appointed to serve as the interim associate vice president for diversity and educational equity. The ombudsman role will be split among three people until we hire a permanent replacement for Derrick.
Dr. Fritz Kreisler will assist faculty and staff; Dr. Martha Stoddard Holmes will assist faculty and students; Rodger D’Andreas will assist students and staff. Michelle Hunt, interim assistant vice president for faculty affairs, will also serve as the ombuds advisor.
As always, I encourage you to speak with the appropriate person regarding any concerns or issues that you may have.
