Newly Designated Smoking Areas - Effective Aug. 15

Our campus is committed to environmental stewardship and sustainability.  New campus buildings have been built according to CSU Energy and Sustainability Guidelines and the U.S. Green Building Council LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards. We have revised some of the Designated Smoking Areas on campus in order to comply with LEED Gold certification requirements.  Smoking areas will be a minimum of 25 feet away from any public building entrances, exits and all operable windows.
  • We made the following modifications to comply with the minimum requirements: The third floor Craven Hall rotunda, third floor northeast corner of Kellogg Library, the second floor north courtyard of University Hall and the west patio area of the Dome have been consolidated.
  • New smoking areas have been created at the south end of Commons, facing lower Lot E, and at University Hall, near the southwest corner on the first floor.
The link below provides more information about the smoking policy and includes a map of the newly created areas.
