CSUSM Roars into its 20's! 20th Anniversary Kickoff set for January 28

On Thursday, January 28, California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) will kick off a year of celebratory 20th anniversary events with a pep rally from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Craven Circle on campus.

In commemoration of the university's milestone anniversary and in recognition of its contributions to the economic growth and success of the region, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors declared  January 26 as "Cal State San Marcos Day" county-wide.  At the kickoff event, City of San Marcos Vice Mayor, Hal Martin, will announce that January 28 is "Cal State San Marcos Day" in the City of San Marcos.

Turner Construction of San Diego will announce a $10,000 challenge, matching dollar for dollar up to $10,000 all gifts made in 2010 to CSUSM's annual fund.

Attendees will enjoy freebies, food, music, and prizes. Entertainment will be provided by 91X broadcasting live with goodies to share. The first 500 students present in CSUSM attire will receive a limited edition t-shirt featuring the 20th anniversary photo. The first 1,000 will receive a special 20th anniversary poster. Students will have an opportunity to win two free parking passes (only CSUSM students are eligible and must be present to win).
