Emergency Alert Lifted at CSUSM

California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) police issued an emergency lockdown shortly before 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 4 after receiving a notification about a classroom confrontation where a weapon was thought to be involved.

CSUSM police immediately initiated the university's emergency response protocol, which included activating the campus-wide emergency notification system, as well as issuing a lockdown and sheltering in place order. University Police and sheriffs responded and were able to determine the incident was a class performance activity based on school violence and no real threat was involved.

The emergency all clear notice was issued at 4:19 p.m.
