International Fair Celebrates Diversity on Campus

CSUSM invites the community to join the campus in celebrating our international and cultural diversity on Thursday, April 14 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the 9th Annual International Fair. Held on University Hall Plaza, the free, community event will feature engaging performances, music, cultural displays, interactive game booths, and international cuisine.

Cross-cultural entertainment will include a traditional Jewish dance, Brazilian Capoeira demonstration, belly dancing, and a Chinese vocalist. The ever-popular international fashion show will showcase rich and colorful styles from around the world. Event-goers will also have the opportunity to sample traditional cuisine, including grilled bratwurst, baklava, pitas and hummus, tacos, egg rolls, madeleines and coffee. This year, international students from Japan will be hosting a "Support Japan" booth, selling handmade origami and other traditional items to benefit the relief and recovery efforts in Japan.

The International Fair is organized by the University Global Affairs Committee and sponsored by a Co-Curricular Funding Award, the Office of Global Education, Associate Students, Inc, Student Life and Leadership, LLC, and more than a dozen student organizations.
