CSUSM Celebrates 19th Commencement on May 15

What: California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) hosts its 19th annual commencement ceremonies.

When: Saturday, May 15, 2010, 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
 
Where: Main Grandstand, Del Mar Fairgrounds, 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd., Del Mar

Who: Approximately 1,830 candidates are expected to participate (2,097 undergraduate and graduate students and 302 teacher credential candidates are eligible). The eldest graduate is 86 years old.

Traffic: Traffic is expected to be heavy on the freeway and surface streets surrounding the Del Mar Fair Grounds before and after each ceremony, which are expected to last approximately 2.5 hours each.  Graduates, families and friends are advised to plan accordingly to arrive on time. Conferring of honorary degree: Carol Cox.

Conferring of degrees for candidates for Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science: Anthropology, Communication, Criminology and Justice Studies, Human Development, Integrated Credential Program, Liberal Studies, Literature and Writing Studies, Mass Media, Social Sciences, Sociology, Spanish, Special Majors, Women's Studies.

Conferring of degrees for candidates for Master of Arts Master of Science and Teacher Credential: Education, Literature and Writing Studies, Sociological Practice, Spanish, Teacher Credential.

Conferring of degrees for candidates for Doctorate in Educational Administration.

Ceremony Two - 3:00 p.m.

Conferring of degrees for candidates for Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science: Applied Physics, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Business Administration, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, History, Kinesiology, Mathematics, Nursing, Political Science, Psychology, Visual and Performing Arts.

Conferring of degrees for candidates for Master of Arts, Master of Science, and Master of Business Administration: Biological Sciences, Business Administration, Computer Science, History, Mathematics, Psychology.

The Commencement Ceremony will be broadcast live over the Internet on the day of the event at www.csusm.edu/commencement.
