The annual California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) Alumni Association and the Men's and Women's Golf Team Cougar Scramble will be teeing off on Nov. 13 at the Lake San Marcos Country Club. Shotgun start begins at noon.

In a scramble golf tournament, each player tees off on each hole. The best of the tee shots is selected and all players play their second shots from that spot. The better of the second shots is determined and all play their third shots from that spot. This continues until the ball is holed.
The scramble raises money for the university's golf teams and the alumni association.  All proceeds from the event go directly toward each program's scholarship endowments.

Golfers may register as a team of four or as an individual to be placed on a team. The player fee is $195 for an individual or $750 for a team. This fee includes greens fees, cart fees, and gift bag including a polo shirt, an additional two for one golf pass at Lake San Marcos, a $25 gift certificate to Morton's, and a $10 gift certificate to Goldsmith. Lunch and dinner at the clubhouse will also be provided.

Prizes are awarded to the first, second and third place teams. There are also prizes for the golfer that is closest to the pin and the golfer who has the longest drive. A hole-in-one contest for a new Honda Hybrid vehicle donated by Pacific Honda and a silent auction and opportunity drawing with prizes worth more than $5000 will also be part of the scramble.

Sponsorships are still available at various levels. Currently, sponsors include PCL Construction at the Eagle level; CW Driver, Turner Construction and O'Connor Construction Management, Inc. at the Birdie level; and Bayley Construction and McPeters McAlearney Shimoff & Hatt are Hole Sponsors.
