Klaus can often be found scoping out destinations and studying corporations and business strategies from across the globe. The research isn’t personal: Klaus is searching for internships and other learning opportunities for our business students.
An international banker for almost 30 years, Klaus has an extensive command of world markets and believes that CSUSM students should too. Since coming here in 2007, he has developed and taught a summer course on “International Travel Study” that takes students to Europe and exposes them to business culture in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Students meet with high-ranking business leaders and government officials.
In his “Doing Business in…” series, Klaus’s students have studied doing business in Germany, Hong Kong, China, Brazil and India. More than just presentations, each series is designed to bring increased global awareness to our students as well as foster collaboration and community engagement. Students have described both the summer tour and the lectures as “life-changing” and Klaus’s leadership of the Global Business Management student organization as “exemplary.”
In what has become a campus tradition to kick off the start of spring semester, President Karen Haynes honored eight faculty and staff for their exceptional service and achievements at the President's Outstanding Faculty and Staff Awards Reception on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013.
