Cal State San Marcos Track & Field Competes at UCI

The Cal State San Marcos track and field team competed yesterday, May 3, 2003, in the annual Steve Scott Invitational, hosted by UC Irvine at Anteater Stadium. The meet is named in honor of Cal State San Marcos track and field coach Steve Scott, who is an alumni of UCI.

Cal State San Marcos Women’s Results:

100 m dash: Katrena Robinson, :13.58 (4th in Section 4).

400 m dash: Luci Downey, :59.71 (1st in Section 3); Andrea Jackson, :62.14 (4th in section 3).

800 m run: Camille Wilborn, :2:20.81 (6th in Section 2); Katherine Niblett, 2:21.59 (7th in Section); Ann Marie Byrne, 2:28.69 (6th in Section 3).

1,500 m run: Yolanda Carillo, 5:23.93 (10th in Section 3); Olympia Olguin, 5:30.77 (12th in Section 3).

400 m hurdles: Abril Jimenez, :67.94 (3rd in Section 2).

4x400 relay: 4:08.70 (4th overall).

Discus: Cynthia Flores, 30.98 m (101’08”), 17th overall.

Javelin: Victoria Ciulla, 25.97 m (85’02”), 18th overall.

Cal State San Marcos men’s results:

100 m dash: Yanta Morrow, :11.12 (5th in Section 2); James Rankin, :11.95 (6th in Section 4).

200 m dash: Yanta Morrow, :23.06 (3rd in Section 3); James Rankin, :23.16 (2nd in Section 4).

800 m run: Justin Lessel, 1:55.78 (5th in Section 2); Mike Shannon, 2:02.77 (11th in Section 2); Tony Herr, 1:56.59 (1st in Section 3); Tim Irwin, 2:00.23 (1st in Section 4); Polo Mariscal, 2:01.68 (3rd in Section 4).

1,500 m run: Jesse Armijo, 4:00.11 (10th in Section 2); Carlos Sanchez, 4:16.80; Eddie Mariscal, 4:22.24 (13th in Section 3); Effrain Carillo, 4:36.18 (15th in Section 3).

110 m hurdles: Anthony Blacksher, :14.73 (3rd overall).

400 m hurdles: Robert Velasco, :55.95 (2nd in Section 2).

High jump: Donald Harris, 1.98 m (6’06”), tie for 4th overall.

Javelin: Ed Wurtz, 51.42 m (168’08”), 7th overall.
