Faculty Associate
Dr. Ruiz
received her doctoral
degree from Arizona State University in clinical psychology and completed
her pre-doctoral clinical psychology internship at the VA Greater Los
Angeles Healthcare System, Sepulveda. She is currently an assistant
professor in the Department of Psychology at California State University San Marcos and served as a principal investigator for the MANA Hermanitas evaluation and the COACH program.
Her current research
agenda includes the study of maternal depression and eating and weight
disorders. She is a Post-Doc Clinical Psychology Fellow with the SDSU/UCSD
Joint Doctoral Clinical Psychology Program and is working with the Center
for Eating and Weight Disorders.
Her interests include
ethnic minority mental health; cross-cultural psychology; family
socialization; role theory and women studies. |
