Pre-Health Science and Pre-Nursing
All students admitted to the University in Fall 2010 or later, who want to pursue Nursing, are admitted as Pre-Health Science majors.
Transfer Students: Your major will be administratively changed to Nursing once admitted directly into a Nursing program.
First-Year Students Entering College after High School: Your major will stay as Pre-Health Science until you qualify, per the approved Impaction Criteria for this major, to begin taking the Pre-Nursing Core science courses. Once approved to enroll in the Pre-Nursing Core Science courses at CSU San Marcos, we will administratively change your major to "Pre-Nursing". If you are not approved to move forward into the Pre-Nursing Core science courses, the advisors will work with you to find another major of interest to you, or to counsel you on how to approve your changes of moving into the science courses the following year. You will also have the option of completing a degree in another discipline and then pursuing the Accelerated BSN program at CSU San Marcos.
