Second Bachelor Degree Applicants

Effective with Fall 2012 entry to our Generic/Basic BSN  or LVN to BSN program, the CSU Chancellor's Office has recently opened up the opportunity for students, who have already completed a Bachelor's Degree in another discipline from a U.S. regionally-accredited college/university, to also be considered for admission to our State-support Generic/Basic BSN program or the State-support LVN to BSN program at CSU San Marcos.

  1. You must apply for admission to the University during the priority application filing period of Oct. 1 - Nov. 30, 2011, via CSUMentor.edu, for admission to the University in Fall 2012. The University Admissions Office will evaluate your application and determine if you are eligible for admission to the University.  If you should be deemed as not eligible for admission to the University, you will be notified of this by the University Admissions & Recruitment Office.  If that office determines that you are eligible for admission to the University, your name will be passed on to the School of Nursing.  We will then evaluate you for possible admission to the Generic/Basic BSN or LVN to BSN program.  If you are admitted to our Fall 2012 Generic/Basic BSN or Fall 2012 LVN to BSN program, by approximately July 1, 2012, we will notify the University Office of Admissions and that office will then admit you to the University.  Thus, you will only be admitted to the University if you are also admitted directly into the Generic/Basic BSN or LVN to BSN program.
  2. You must apply to the School of Nursing during our Fall 2012 application filing period, which mirrors the University priority application filing period of Oct. 1 - Nov. 30, 2011, via the Fall 2012 Application link on our Nursing Web site. There isn't a fee to apply to the School of Nursing.
