Spring 2012 Faculty Mini-Grants

The Office of Community Service Learning is pleased to announce the availability of Faculty mini-grants for Spring 2012!

Faculty whose courses will include a Community Service Learning component in Spring 2012 are eligible to apply for up to $500 of support for a student assistant, and up to $500 to purchase project-related supplies for the implementation of service learning.   Faculty may apply for funding in one or both categories.

Deadline:  Jan. 18, 2012 (for best consideration), or until available funds are depleted

Granting priorities:

  • Preference will be given for courses with a Required service learning component (versus Optional)
  • Preference will be given to faculty who select from among the OCSL community partners (see OCSL Database), for their students’ service learning experience
  • Strongest consideration for courses that meet the Academic Senate definition of community service learning (see SL Definition), and demonstrate how student reflection on service will be incorporated into the class

Please note: All community service learning students must always complete the service learning registration process by following the steps located in Necessary Forms under the "Info for Students section"

Any awarded funds will only be released to grantees after students in the course have completed the registration process, and a course syllabus is submitted to the OCSL.
