Safety Tips to Review with your Students

• Clearly define the role of service learning for your course and the expected outcomes
• Discuss the risks and benefits involved with the project
• Set up a line of communication for students to report difficulties
• Explain to students the need for them to carry health and car insurance
• Inform students that:
     * CSUSM is NOT liable for students getting to and from their service sites
     * Students are NOT to drive others
