Hi my name is Aurelio Arango. I am Junior at California State University San Marcos and I am from Mexico. My Major is Computer Science with a minor in Physics. I graduated from MiraCosta College in California with an Associate's Degree in Physics and a Degree in Liberal Arts Emphasis in Mathematics and Sciences. I became a Marc Scholar in May 2012. I am currently mentoring with Dr. Xiaoyu Zhang and we are developing a web interface for the Q and C sever. |

My name is Lilibeth Flores I am a Mexican born Cal State San Marcos student working on my bachelor’s degree in psychology. I became a MARC scholar this past May. I am interest in various sub fields in psychology, for example, behavioral, cognitive, social and clinical. My main interest lies in social research psychology. I am currently working in the Applied Social Psychology Lab with Dr. Wesley P. Schultz. I expect to graduate the spring of 2014 and go on to a doctorate program. |

My name is Alejandra Garcia. I am a senior Psychology major at California State University San Marcos. I am Mexican American and a first generation college student. I am a MARC scholar and I have been working in Dr. Dustin Calvillo’s Cognitive Psychology lab for the last year. Our lab mainly focuses on projects involving decision-making, human reasoning, and judgment. I plan on pursuing a PhD in neuroscience. I want to contribute to society by conducting important and meaningful research that furthers the understanding of brain processes (such as memory and decision-making) and neurodegenerative disorders. I wish to continue to do research in the future as well as teach at a university. |

My name is Johan Garza. I was born in Chicago, Illinois. I am a senior at California State San Marcos. My major is Biotechnology with a minor in Biology. I became a MARC Scholar in June 2011. I am currently mentoring with Ph.D. Betsy Read, characterizing 15 Carbonic Anhydrase Isozymes in the Marine Alga Emiliania huxleyi. |

My name is Carlos Gonzalez. I am a junior majoring in biology with an emphasis in cell and molecular biology. I transfered from Imperial Valley College in 2011 and will be graduating in 2014. I am currently a MARC student and I work in Dr. Keith Trujillo's psychopharmachology lab. Our lab focuses on different behavioral responses to drug administration in adult and adolescent populations. Next year I will be applying for PhD programs in the area of neuroscience. |

Hello! My name is Alannah Miranda and I am an undergraduate student here at Cal State University San Marcos, majoring in Biochemistry. I am currently working in Dr. Denise Garcia's genetics lab doing research analyzing gene expression in shrimp in response to viral infection. In the future I plan to pursue a PhD in Genetics and continue to do research in the medical genetics field. |

Hi my name is Sandra Oviedo. I am a first-generation Mexican college student. I am a senior at California State University San Marcos majoring in psychology. I graduated from Palomar College with an Associate’s degree in General Studies with an emphasis in Social Behavioral Sciences and became a MARC Scholar recipient in June 2011. I am currently mentoring with Dr. Keith Trujillo. Our research project involves looking at how adults and adolescents differ in their response to drugs of abuse, specifically a drug class called dissociatives. |

My name is Everardo Robles. I am a Hispanic student attending California State University San Marcos an I am currently a senior. I am majoring in General Biology. I became part of RISE on January 2011, and in June 2011 I became a MARC scholar. I am currently mentoring with Dr. Bianca Mothe. Our research focuses on determining and understanding Major Histocompatibility Complex Class I frequencies in Chinese Rhesus macaque, a model for the pathogenesis of HIV in Humans. |
