Student Programs

The primary objective of our programs is to help students develop strong academic records and to introduce them to scientific research.

Our programs equip participants with the knowledge and skills that they need for a successful career in the sciences.  All participants perform original scientific research and present their findings at scientific meetings. Students are introduced to a broad range of scientific disciplines and are provided with networking opportunities with representatives of some of the nation's top research universities.  It is the goal and the hope of program staff that all of our students obtain doctoral school admission, successfully complete their degrees, and pursue satisfying careers in the research sciences.

To achieve this goal we offer a range of tutorials and workshops on topics ranging from math and science skills, to the latest scientific findings, to preparing applications for graduate school.

Students must be fulltime, majoring in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Physics, Math, and Psychology), and committed to pursuing graduate training (PhD); students intending to pursue clinical degrees in medicine, dentistry, veterinary science, optometry, etc. are not eligible. Students interested in the MD/PhD degree may apply, but will be evaluated carefully.

Completed applications should be submitted to the OTRES Office in Academic Hall 410. Or can also be mailed to:
