Southern California ACE Network
Regional News

Greetings!
My name is Dilcie Perez and I am the new ACE Southern California Regional Coordinator.  I know it has been a few months since you have last heard from the Network, but please know that Maya and I have been working hard to develop new initiatives to strengthen our Network and increase the amount of participation across our region.  Please take a few moments to read the following important updates:

New contact information:
Email address:  We have established a Network email address:  socalnetwork@csusm.edu  We hope that you will use this address to communicate with us.  This mailbox will be checked daily.

Website address:
Our Presidential Sponsor has offered to host our website on her page.  It can be found at: www.csusm.edu/owhe

Telephone number:
We have a new telephone number: (760) 750-4973.

ListServ:
As a way to build community and share information, we have established a list serv.  We encourage you and your campus participants to sign up at: http://coyote.csusm.edu/mailman/listinfo/socalnetwork

Webinars:
As California continues to feel the effects of our current budget crisis, many campuses are "tightening" their checkbooks and limiting, if not eliminating, travel and professional development.  In response to this, a small team has worked diligently to develop a webinar series for Spring 2009.  Each webinar will be 1 hour in length and provide a 20 minute presentation and 30 minute discussion.  Our first webinar will be on January 29th. Please check the Meeting Information webpage for more information.

IR Meeting:
The purpose of this meeting is to review the survey results, clarify roles and expectations, and develop a strategic plan for our Network. We are currently planning a date for this event.

Thank you to everyone for such a warm welcome to the Network.  I look forward to working with each of you.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact Maya Alvarez or myself at (760) 750-4973.
