The Trustees of the California State University (CSU) recognize the International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW), AFL-CIO and its Local Union as the sole and exclusive representative of the bargaining unit (Unit 11) in accordance with the certification by the Public Employment Relations Board (PERB) in petition number LA-RR-1099-H.

Summary of Bargaining Unit Positions

During the 2008-2009 academic year, Instructional Student Assistants were employed in the following departments:  Accountancy & Finance, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Computer Science, Management & Marketing, Mathematics, Physics, and Psychology.  Additionally, Instructional Student Assistants worked in the Computer Consulting Center, Language Learning Center, Math Lab and the Writing Center.  Graduate Assistants were hired by the Sociology Program.  The Biology, Literature & Writing Studies, Mathematics, Psychology and World Languages & Hispanic Literatures departments' employed Teaching Associates during the year.

The classifications included in this unit are:

Instructional Student Assistants (1150, 1151 and all others that may apply)

Teaching Associates (2353 and 2354)

Graduate Assistants (2355, 2325 and 2326)
