Parking Information |

Cal State San
Marcos provides disabled parking spaces for
persons who possess a valid DMV placard/license plate. Disabled parking spaces are located in parking lots B,C,E,H,J,N, and O. For students of Cal State San Marcos a DMV plate/placard must be properly
displayed along with a current Cal
State San Marcos semester, LT or daily parking permit when parking in
disabled parking spaces |

Education Code
67301(a) requires CSU to establish rules regarding parking
for disabled persons. Subsection (b) requires CSU to provide free visitor
parking to disabled persons. Section
67301 also requires CSU to comply with
the Vehicle Code which permits disabled persons to park for "unlimited periods
in time-restricted parking zones and to park in any metered parking space without being required to pay any parking meter fee." In accordance with Section
67301(a),
the Trustees adopted Section 42201 of Title V. Section 42201(b) provides: "The payment of a fee shall not be required of….
Students with disabilities who possess a distinguishing license plate or placard
issued by the State of California's Department of Motor Vehicles or by the
appropriate authority of another state, and who have demonstrated financial need for parking fee financial assistance as determined by the campus president according to the need analysis procedure for campus based financial aid authorized by Title IV of the federal Higher Education Act of 1965, and
have received a campus parking fee waiver." In short, there must be a financial
need in order to request a campus parking fee waiver.
CVC 22511.56
Any person using a distinguishing
placard issued pursuant to Section 22511.55 or 22511.59 for parking as
permitted by Section 22511.5 shall, upon request of any peace officer or
person authorized to enforce parking laws, ordinances, or regulations,
present identification and evidence of the issuance of that placard to that
person.
