of buildings, courtyards and patios, provides meeting accommodations and dining
opportunities for campus and community members. The 3,220 gross square feet
building includes a great room for meeting and dining, a commercial kitchen,
foyer, and support areas. The complex will also include a 600 square feet
covered patio for University gatherings. The project will be financed by gift
funds.
Parking Structure, Phase 1 (103) - This
project will provide a parking structure on an existing parking lot on the
northeastern side of campus. The project will serve future enrollment growth,
much of which will be in the next five years and will be accommodated in new
facilities near the proposed parking structure including: a Social and
Behavioral Science Building, Student Housing Phase 2 and additional academic
buildings. This is the first of at least six planned parking structures to
be built on the campus for full development. The structure will be built on the
existing 577 space Lot N (Structure# 103 on current approved CSUSM master plan)
and will be adjacent to the extension of the existing Campus View Drive.
Public Safety Building (63) -
This project will provide a new 17,502 square foot administration building to
house the Parking and Transportation Services department and University Police.
The project will be located at the corner of La Moree and Barham Drive on the
northeast corner of the campus. This project will be designed to meet LEED
Platinum equivalent. The building will be adjacent the new NCTD public
light rail line (NCTD Sprinter) and will act as a gateway to the campus. This
project will provide space to accommodate the growth of both public safety
departments, which is related to substantial enrollment growth and the new
presence of residential students. This building will provide appropriate space
for twenty sworn officers, six dispatchers, and fourteen community service
officers. It will also provide adequate space to house an Emergency Operations
Center (EOC) in the event of an emergency.
Social and Behavioral Sciences Building (31) -
The
project will provide 111,283 GSF that will support 461 FTE in Lecture, 51 FTE in
Lower Division Lab, 132 FTE in Upper Division Lab, Graduate Research Space, 125
Faculty Offices, Dean’s Suite, Social & Behavior Research Institute, National
