Student Field Placement Procedure

     In an effort to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for students participating in a
     student field placement program, the California State University San Marcos utilizes the follow
     documents:
  
                       Cal State San Marcos University-Community Partnership Agreement
                       Cal State San Marcos Guidelines and Limitations for Student Field Placement
                       Office of Community Service Learning Student Registration Form

A.  University-Community Partnership Agreement (university contract)

This university contract is a partnership agreement for a community organization to be able to accept Cal State San Marcos student placements (internships, service learning, or other field experiences).  This agreement details the responsibilities of the university and of the organization.  Unless otherwise approved by the Director of Procurement & Support Services, no other agreement format is to be used between the university and an organization accepting student field placements.  This contract must be on file before any student does any
curricula-linked activity at any community
organization.

B.  Guidelines and Limitations for Student Field Placement (student contract)

The student accepts responsibility for his/her actions pursuant to these guidelines
and limitations.  It is a contract amongst a specific student, instructor, and
community supervisor, with regard to a specific community placement experience.

            C.  Office of Community Service Learning (OCSL) Student Registration Form (student information)

This form provides information about the student, the organization, field placement responsibilities, emergency contact information, and meets university data collection responsibilities.
