Reimbursement is based on the amount actually incurred, and is subject to a maximum dollar limit of $275. If an exception is approved, the Lodging Exception Form would need to be provided. University employees are always advised to seek the best value whenever they are to book a hotel stay.

Transient Occupany Taxes Exception
University employees traveling on official business are granted an exemption for the payment of occupany taxes imposed by California. Travelers should identify themselves as University employees and claim exemption from the tax upon arrival. The traveler may be required to complete an exemption certificate(STD 236). The option to grant the exception is at the discretion of the hotel.
