Confusion

The cow was like a bench.
He stands there doing nothing.
He is bored.
The field is empty.
The other cows are getting milked.
The farmer is thirsty.
The bored cow is a bull.
They are raising him to eat
across the street..
He sees the restaurant.
Confusion is a
dog at a restaurant
alone and afraid.
No-one knows why he’s there.
No-one knows where he’s from.
Whimpering like a child,
he’s rejected.
Strange sights and smells,
checkerboard cloth high atop trees,
scraps of food by people’s knees.
Outside there is a pasture.
He sees a cow.
The cow was like a bench.
