He stands on the bridge,
soloing as sweet tenor sounds come out of his sax.
He is as lonely as a single rose popping out of a dead garden.
Cars down below rush by as the people blab of the jazz.
Later, he gets tired and carefully climbs down the colorful bridge,
his sax in hand, and strolls home through the lifeless city.
"St. Thomas" has been played publicly by its composer for the last
time.
If I were him, I’d keep playing just
for the sake of fan’s in the lifeless city.
