Considering the Spiders

The spiders,
an ugly gray cloudy color,
stringy long legs with
disgusting strands of hairy webs that
stick like gum when I walk into them
because the webs are clear and I can't see them.

Once, I got a good-for-nothing spider
and put him in a jar with my brother's frog,
and with one move that ugly thing was gone,
it made history. I was happy that day.

One evening, a bug was trying to get inside my room.
Then all of a sudden, down flew a spider in a surprise attack.
He missed, but the frightened bug never came back.

For a moment, we looked at each other,
and I sadly remembered the spider that died.
It is in my memory now, and I will remember
the spider who looked at me, forever.
