Enhanced Site Search by Google
An additional component of the new csusm.edu is an enhanced site search powered by the Google Search Appliance. Visitors to csusm.edu have already seen dramatically improved results when searching site content, and improvements will continue to be made over time.
Two reasons for our improved search results:
- We now have the ability to identify and exclude old and outdated content on our Web server. The result is a shorter, more compact list of relevant links on the search results page.
- We also have the ability to establish keyword matches for search results. These matches will ensure that the most relevant link or document comes up #1 in search results, rather than being buried deep in the list below less-relevant links.
