Cuban Dance Workout
We are getting CSUSM Staff moving again with a core-strengthening Zumba-like dance session with Maritza Baida (a local Cuban-dance instructor in North County San Diego) that will incorporate movement for dancing to contemporary Cuban salsa music called “timba” [phonetically pronounced: team-bah]. You may also learned how to do some beginning-level Afro-Cuban movement such as Changó, Ogún, Yemayá, Ochosi, and Eleggua and may end it off with a “carnival” dance from Havana.
- DATE: Wednesday, March 26
- TIME: 12:00 - 1:00 PM
- LOCATION: The Dome
We wish we had pictures from the last event event for you, but we wanted the workout to be stress free, we did receive some lovely comments about the event from the attendees though:
- I thoroughly enjoyed it. Are there any plans to teach a regularly scheduled class on campus to folks like us?
- We learned a lot in a short amount of time and it was a blast! Let’s do it again.
- Yes! Let’s dance again, that was so much fun! How about an outdoor summer class?!
