All CSUSM Staff are invited to have fun working out doing a core-strengthening Zumba-like dance session with Maritza Baida (a local Cuban-dance instructor in North County San Diego) that will incorporate movement for dancing to contemporary Cuban salsa music called “timba” [phonetically pronounced: team-bah]. You will also learn how to do some of the beginning-level Afro-Cuban movement such as Changó, Ogún, Yemayá, Ochosi, and Eleggua and we will end it off with a “carnival” dance from Havana.
We are excited you are coming to dance with us!
