Maximize Your Lunch

Do you ever feel discouraged by how much of your lunch time is eaten away by driving off campus? Are you in a lunch time rut? SAND wants you to enjoy your lunch to the max! Check out all the fun things you can do, mostly right here on campus.

• ACTIVITIES

  • Play a round of disc golf
  • Take a walk on the track
  • Go to a fitness class at the UVA (ASI fee)
  • Work out at The Clarke (membership required)
  • Work out with a personal trainer at the Clarke
  • Climb a wall at Solid Rock Gym, down the street from UARSC building

• ART & CULTURE

  • Check out a book or DVD for FREE at the library
  • Look at what Arts & Lectures has going on
  • Visit the library's Fall 2011 exhibit, Wounded Hearts: A Journey Through Grief

• RELAX

  • Go over to the Ralph's Shopping Center via the Parking Services Lunch Shuttle: Try out Fro Yo Love, Subway, Mr. Taco, or Starbucks
  • Eat your lunch on the Faculty Center Patio in the Kellogg Library (open to all staff and faculty)
  • Bring a blanket and eat lunch in the grass
  • Drive down to Discovery Lake, just down Craven
  • Drive up to Double Peak Park, walk the trails, enjoy the views, and admire Dr. Thomas Wahlund's memorial
  • Eat something delicious at the Cougar Shops in the Dome
