LEAD is an acronym that stands for Leadership Education and Development. This leadership retreat is a campus tradition that provides new students with the training and experience that will help them become more effective leaders (and students) during their time at CSUSM. Participants come away from this retreat experience having learned about themselves, their leadership abilities, and having established new friendships as well as connections with staff members who support many of the co-curricular leadership opportunities on campus.
LEAD 2013 has been re-scheduled and will be held Friday April 5th - Sunday April 7th. If you have already been confirmed as an attendee you do not need to submit this form again. Students must attend the entire weekend as we travel up to Julian together. All interested students must apply using the form below by Friday, March 22nd at 5:00 pm.
What it will do for YOU: The leadership retreat will assist in making you a more effective student leader. You will meet a diverse group of students who are interested in strengthening the campus community. You will gain the support of campus professionals who will assist you in realizing your leadership goals. Join other aspiring student leaders in the mountains of Julian for a weekend of skill training, networking and FUN! Where: This year's LEAD Retreat will take place at Camp Cedar Glen in Julian.
Who can attend: This retreat is for first and second year students only. Juniors and seniors are not eligible to attend this retreat. What is the cost: NO CHARGE! This is a completely FREE experience. The only cost to you is giving up your weekend (and shift at work) to be with other student leaders. When do we leave/return: We will leave campus on Friday afternoon and return to the campus on Sunday afternoon. You are expected to attend the entire weekend. A schedule with specific times and meeting locations will be provided to those selected for the retreat via email.
