Family Orientation

Welcome to the CSUSM Family!

As a partner in supporting your student through a successful transition, we are pleased to offer several options for family members of First Year Students to learn more about the CSU San Marcos campus and how to support their students during their first year of college. 

There will be a Family option offered during a number of our First Year Orientations that include the option of bringing up to 2 family members to attend a concurrent program. Please note that parents and guests will not be attending orientation with their student, rather, they will be attending a separate orientation with the opportunity to join their student for lunch and reunite at the conclusion of both programs.

 At this time, we do not offer Family Orientation options for Transfer Students, however, we would be happy to provide any resources or publications given at Orientation if you are interested.

We thank you in advance for encouraging your student to complete their Pre-Orientation Homework and Checklists. This information is provided to them to contribute to their Orientation process and make the experience smoother!

*Key departments will be open during Saturday Orientations to accommodate the needs of students and family members, however, operating hours will be condensed.
