Family Orientation
Welcome to the CSUSM Family!
As a partner in supporting your student through a successful transition to CSUSM, we are pleased to offer several options for family members of First Year Students to learn more about the CSU San Marcos campus and how to support their students during their first year of college.
Some resources we offer to build the relationship and partnership with the family members of our new students include:
Family Orientation
These sessions run concurrently with selected First Year Student Orientation sessions your student will be attending prior to starting school in the Fall. We allow 2 guests to attend per student and the fee is $35 per guest. If you attend this Orientation (spaces are limited), you will have the opportunity to:
- Hear about all the campus resources available to CSUSM students
- Take a campus tour
- Interact with current student leaders serving on the volunteer Orientation Team
- Hear how to best support your student as they begin the transition to college
- Meet faculty and staff who are dedicated to providing your student with a quality experience at CSUSM
- and more!
All newly admitted First Year students must attend Orientation in order to register for courses prior to the first day of the Fall 2011 semester. Visit the link for First Year Student Orientation for more information regarding Orientation for your student.
