I joined the faculty of the Sociology Department as an Assistant Professor in August of 2003. Prior to this appointment, I taught in the department as a lecturer for two years while completing my Ph.D. in Criminology, Law & Society at the University of California, Irvine.  Most of the classes I teach are directly related to my interdisciplinary background and include courses such as: Introduction to Justice Studies, Sociology of Deviance, Feminism & Justice, Sociology of Law, Morality & Law, and Comparative Analysis of Justice Systems. My current research interests are in the areas of justice-related social movements, sociolegal responses to transnational crimes against women, welfare fraud diversion, and various topics related to critical criminology and justice studies.
