As Director of TRIO/Student Support Services (TRIO/SSS), Ms. Northway is responsible for oversight of program services, management of fiscal and personnel transactions, compliance with University policies and Department of Education legislation and regulations. She is also a member of the management leadership team for the Centers for Learning and Academic Support Services (CLASS) and the Student Affairs Leadership Team (SALT).  In addition, she provides academic, transitional and personal counseling for TRIO/SSS students and has served as adjunct faculty for First Year programs.

Ms. Northway has previously served as Coordinator/Counselor for TRIO/SSS where she oversaw admission into the program, arranged cultural events and coordinated the Mid-Semester Evaluation process.  Prior to this role, she served as a Special Consultant for both the SSS and EOP programs and held supervisory positions within museums and non-profit organizations.  She enjoys collaborating with people from a wide spectrum of nationalities, ethnicities, cultures, socioeconomic levels, sexual orientations, ages and religions.

Ms. Northway’s professional interests include honoring the cultural contributions of people from throughout the world.  She is also involved with retention and equity issues within institutions of higher learning.  Her other interests include multicultural studies and women’s concerns. She is a member of Chi Sigma Iota (Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society), National Association for Student Personnel Administrators, American Counseling Association, and Association for Psychological Type.  Most recently, Ms. Northway has been granted the title of National Certified Counselor (NCC) by the National Board for Certified Counselors.
