Andrea Liss, Ph.D.
Visual Arts, VPA
Dr. Andrea Liss is the Contemporary Art Historian/Cultural Theorist at California State University San Marcos where her teaching focuses on feminist art and theory, photographic theory and representations of memory and history. Her most recent book, Feminist Art and the Maternal (University of Minnesota Press) came out in January 2009. She has published Trespassing through Shadows: Memory, Photography and the Holocaust (University of Minnesota Press, 1998), as well as numerous book chapters, journal articles and exhibition catalog essays. Dr. Liss recently curated the exhibition ³Reel Mothers: Film, Video Art and the Maternal² at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido, February 7 June 21, 2009.Classes Professor Liss teaches:
