California Indigenous Futures Fund

Established through the generosity of the Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation, the California Indigenous Futures Fund at CSUSM is a transformational endowment advancing the success of American Indian and Alaska Native (AIAN) students.

CSUSM is deeply honored to partner with the Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation, whose belief in our Native and American Indian students and the California Indian Culture and Sovereignty Center (CICSC) is already changing lives. Their generosity represents a bold commitment to equity, academic excellence, and the flourishing of Indigenous futures—and we invite others to join us.

This California Indigenous Futures Fund, alongside support from the CICSC at CSUSM, ensures we can continue to:

  • Empower future tribal leaders
  • Create pathways to college access and success
  • Increase AIAN student enrollment and retention
  • Strengthen ties with Tribal education departments and local schools
  • Bridge understanding through cultural programs and research
  • Mentor students through faculty and peer support
  • Inform public policy through community-engaged research

We invite you to support the growth of the California Indigenous Futures Fund. By giving today, you help preserve and promote the rich traditions and achievements of our Native students for generations to come.
