Welcome Letter from the Director

Welcome to The Alliance to Accelerate Excellence in Education (The Alliance) at CSU San Marcos. The Alliance is a regionally focused initiative intended to create a comprehensive and comprehensible pathway to college access and success.

Guided by principles of partnership, collaboration and academic excellence, The Alliance serves as the oversight and support office for Guaranteed Admission agreements with ten area school districts. In addition to having Guaranteed Admission Agreements with ten local school districts, CSUSM also has agreements with sovereign governments and other educational agencies. Through The Alliance and these agreements, we reduce barriers to college success that have traditionally presented challenges for regional students and bolster the systems that support academic achievement among all learners.  With a focus on traditionally underserved youth and/or first-generation college students, The Alliance works with families, teachers, administrators, and community members to support all students in achieving academic success.

Administered through the division of Community Engagement, The Alliance serves as a dynamic partner in keeping with CSUSM’s commitment to active participation in our regional community. The Alliance combines the resources and creative talents of a comprehensive state university, community colleges, public school districts, and community businesses and agencies in pursuit of its goals.  We collectively work toward increasing the number of students who graduate from high school prepared for the rigor of university coursework and qualified for college admission in anticipation of the exciting career opportunities that lie ahead.
