ACLMP Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who are Alliance Peer Mentors?
Alliance Peer Mentors are upperclassmen Alliance students. Alliance Peer Mentors guide mentees to become more aware of The Alliance program, campus resources and provide moral support. Guidance can include addressing topics such as academic advising, campus involvement, and providing advice and connections to build your professional network.
  • How much time am I expected to meet with my Alliance Peer Mentor each month?
If you wish to receive the full benefits of the program, you are required to meet biweekly (twice a month) with your Alliance Peer Mentor. Zoom meetings and phone calls are the preferred methods of communication. Please note Zoom meetings can range anywhere from 15 minutes to 1 hour. This all depends on your interest and any questions you may have. Know your Alliance Peer Mentor is happy to help in any way they can to help you make the most of your first year at CSUSM!
