Cougars Rock Hunger

Fighting Hunger, Feeding hope.

This year, CSUSM is again participating in College Rocks Hunger Food Drive to support the San Diego Food Bank!

  • October 17 - November 9, 2014
  • Our Goal: 10,000 lbs. of food

ASI will be directing a competition with student organizations, sport teams, and any other groups/teams. The winning team will receive a trophy and secret prize!!! Get involved and help us feed San Diego!

Rules and Guidelines:

To be a part of the competition, you must be a team of 5 or more students (this team can be an entire organization or a group of friends/students). The team who has the most points by November 9th will win a trophy and a secret prize! Winners will be announced on November 13th at U-Hour.

Point system:
  • 1 item = 1 point
  • $1.00 = 5 points

Note: Items brought in earn points for only ONE organization/team. Students may not double dip items. Also, any money donated or items collected BEFORE October 17, 2014, will not be counted!

Donations:

Donations can be made at CSUSM's Virtual Aid Drive website.

Include the student organization or team name in the comment box in order to earn credit. You may encourage family and friends to donate money as well. As long as they put the student organization or team name, you will earn credit.  

Most needed items:
  • Canned meat and tuna
  • Canned soup
  • Canned fruits and vegetables
  • Canned beans
  • Dry cereal
  • Rice
  • Mac and cheese
  • Spaghetti 
Drop off times:

Please drop off all donations at the ASI CAB office located at USU 3700 in order to earn credit.

Mondays 1:00pm - 4:00pm
Tuesdays 10:00am - 3:00pm
Wednesdays 11:30am - 12:30pm
Thursdays 10:00am - 1:00pm
